The Bureau of Curiosity Acquisition, Investigation, & Management (BCAIM) is a Joint Intelligence subsection responsible for the policing of magical artifacts within Great Britain. Its central office is located in Briar Gate, but the Bureau maintains offices in London and other areas of high interest within the British commonwealth.
The Bureau is well known throughout other agencies within the Joint Intelligence for its unorthodox recruitment practices. Agents operating on behalf of the Bureau are instructed to never reveal their allegiance to persons outside their own specialized teams, internally referred to as prides with the notable exception of Director Oswald Harker.
This mostly clandestine operation is said to be employed in order to have agents with access to all possible venues of illegal activities, from small to the largest scale. This being the case, most agents will typically have some other primary form of employment, although the Bureau requires official business to take precedence.
